In a novel I'm writing a young actress goes to Amherst to study Emily Dickinson in preparation for playing her in a production in Chicago. She spends a year in Amherst reading only Dickinson. In the process she discovers her own buried life and a flood of memories. This experience forms a long chapter in the novel. chapter When she returns to Chicago and reads the play she is to be in she finds it untrue to the subject. This has been the theater's Artistic Director's hope. Together they will fashion a true play. This play--Aberration of Starlight--forms the next chapter of the novel. The stage version of this chapter will be produced in Minneapolis sometime this Fall.
